NJCCIC Data Breach Notification

Summary

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), an agency of the Department of Defense (DOD), acknowledged that a network they host suffered a data breach between May and July 2019. DISA oversees communications and information technology (IT) support for US military services, the Secretary of Defense, the Vice President, and the President of the United States. The number of victims has not been confirmed, though reporting suggests it may be limited to current and former employees. Compromised data includes various forms of personally identifiable information, including names and Social Security numbers. The agency began notifying potential victims, who will receive free credit report monitoring.
