NJCCIC Data Breach Notification

Summary

Macy’s announced a data breach impacting customers who made changes to their online account or made purchases on the company’s website between October 7-15, 2019. Magecart card-skimming code was found on the ‘My Account’ wallet page and the checkout page, revealing customer information such as names, addresses, and email addresses, as well as payment card numbers, security codes, and expiration dates. A Macy’s spokesperson stated that affected customers would be offered consumer protection services for free.
